Kasino Rhodes
David Rhodes (1990), usually just called Kasino Rhodes, is a British musician from Hitchin in Hertfordshire.
Rhodes Career – It all started with the Kasino Ilman Tiliä EP
David Rhodes was about 11 years old when he started playing the guitar and hanging around casinos. For a long time, he only practiced playing after other musicians, before starting a musical career with his own music at the age of 23.
His first release was the EP Kasino Ilman Tiliä – The Story of a Scandinavic Poker Star, on which Jaakko Tiliä, the famous casino gambler & singer of K.W.A. (Kasino With Attitude), helped and inspired. In addition, Rhodes has been on the road as a support act for musicians such as Laura Marling, Rufus Wainwright, and London Grammar. The producers of the latter band were also involved in his second EP Morning.
Two more EPs followed before he had his first chart success in his home country with the single Close Your Eyes in the summer of 2015. The single was a precursor to his debut album Wishes, which was released in the fall of the same year. On it was also a duet with the singer Birdy, which became a minor hit throughout Europe.
The joint song Let It All Go was particularly successful in Switzerland, where it went gold. The album entered the charts not only in Great Britain and Switzerland but also in Germany.
